Why buy tray and canopy together? Two reasons. It's cheaper than buying the parts separately, and the fit is right the first time — deck width, rail positions and jack-off clamp spacing all match, which is where mixed-brand builds go wrong. Packages start at $4,999 for a complete work setup and run to $11,499 for American heavy-duty builds. A full tray-and-canopy conversion adds 300–450 kg to the vehicle, so check your payload before you commit.

What to decide before you order
Tray length. Dual cab 1600–1850 mm, extra cab 2100–2150 mm, single cab 2400–2450 mm. Decide the canopy length at the same time — a 1600 mm tray won't take an 1800 mm canopy and still leave usable open deck.
Canopy height. 850 mm suits most trade fit-outs. Go to 1 m only if you're running a fridge on a slide with shelving above it; the extra height costs price, payload and highway fuel.
Jack-off or fixed. Jack-off legs let you lift the canopy off and get a flat tray back for the weekend, and let you sell the canopy separately at trade-in. Retrofitting costs more than specifying it up front.
Headboard and trundle drawer. The headboard is load restraint plus a ladder rack mounting point, not a styling item. The trundle drawer is the highest-utility option on the order form if you carry long gear.
Common questions
Is a package cheaper than buying tray and canopy separately?
Yes, and it fits better. Deck width, rail positions and jack-off clamp spacing all match when both parts come from the same build, which is exactly where mixed-brand setups cause problems.
How much does a tray and canopy add to my vehicle?
Commonly 300–450 kg once you account for the tray, the canopy and the fit-out. That comes straight out of legal payload, so weigh the finished vehicle at a public weighbridge rather than relying on the brochure figure.
What is included in a package?
It varies by build level. The Tradesman package is a 3-door aluminium tray and canopy ready to install; the modular Tray & Canopy build lets you add drop sides, jack-off and Xceed upgrades. Prices shown are supply only — fitting is quoted separately.
Do I need engineering approval?
A compliant tray with a canopy fitted to a standard chassis generally doesn't need individual approval, but the finished vehicle must still meet mass limits, lighting, rear marking and load restraint requirements. A chassis-mount service body or a GVM upgrade is a different conversation.
How long does fitting take?
Allow a day for a straightforward tray-and-canopy fit. Add time if a trundle drawer, 12V system and accessories are going on in the same visit. Book it for a week you can afford to be off the tools.
Can I keep my factory tub?
Yes, and you should if the ute may be sold standard or returned at the end of a lease. A complete tub with lights and loom has real resale value. If you'd rather not convert at all, look at a tub canopy instead.

For non-standard builds or structural modifications, a custom fabrication fee of approximately 15–20% may apply depending on complexity.
Can I customise a package to suit my needs?
Absolutely.
All packages can be tailored with optional upgrades such as:

If your build requires structural changes or non-standard dimensions, it will be treated as a custom build and may require additional lead time.
How long does installation take?
Most standard tray and canopy installations are completed within 2–3 days.

Will the tray and canopy fit my vehicle?
Yes.
Our tray, canopy and service body systems use a modular design, allowing compatibility with most Australian utes and light trucks.
For specific models, only minor dimensional adjustments are required to ensure a precise and secure fit.
Can I install it myself?
Self-installation is possible for experienced tradespeople.
However, we strongly recommend professional installation to ensure:

- Proper fuel filler or AdBlue relocation
- Warranty protection

Will factory features like cameras, sensors or blind-spot systems still work?
Yes — in most cases.
If the original bumper and mounting positions remain unchanged, factory cameras, parking sensors, and blind-spot systems continue to operate normally without relocation.
If the bumper is removed or if the sensors are originally mounted within the bumper, relocation will be required. In these cases, our team professionally repositions and reconnects all OEM safety systems.
For supported vehicle models, we have tested and verified that all factory features remain fully functional after installation.
